Lottery leader Allwyn has announced a new partnership with Instant Win Gaming (IWG), a prominent supplier of digital e-Instant and instant win games. The collaboration will see Allwyn working closely with IWG’s co-founders, Rhydian Fisher and Simon Bucknall, to bring innovation to the instant win games sector. This move is expected to enhance Allwyn’s content offering and strengthen its already impressive portfolio.

As part of the agreement, Allwyn has agreed to invest in IWG, acquiring a 70% stake in the company. The funding for this venture will come from Allwyn’s existing financial resources. The investment is set to close in the second half of 2024, subject to customary closing conditions. Following the completion of the deal, there will be no changes to IWG’s team, with Rhydian Fisher and Simon Bucknall retaining their positions as CEO and COO, respectively.

IWG is a key supplier of instant win games to over 25 national and state lotteries and has a strong presence in the North American market. The company is known for its innovative approach and diverse portfolio of games across various categories, with reported EBITDA of £18.2 million as of April 30, 2023.

Allwyn’s chief investment officer, Stepan Dlouhy, expressed excitement about the investment in IWG, stating that it will allow the company to leverage high-quality content throughout the group. He emphasized Allwyn’s commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to its international player base. Dlouhy also praised the expertise of IWG’s co-founders and their potential for collaboration.

Meanwhile, Rhydian Fisher, CEO of IWG, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership with Allwyn, highlighting the potential for amplifying IWG’s success and delivering value to its partners. He pointed to Allwyn’s expertise in the lottery consumer market as a valuable asset for creating new opportunities and delivering significant value for existing partners.

In a separate development, Allwyn recently took over The National Lottery in the UK and launched a new marketing campaign to mark the occasion. This latest partnership with IWG further demonstrates Allwyn’s commitment to driving innovation and delivering value in the lottery and gaming industry.
