GamePLAI, a sportsbook trading supplier that uses machine learning and real-time technology to analyze every second of a sporting event for rich analytics and forecasts that engage fans, has secured £1.5 million ($1.9 million) in new investment. The funding includes support from gambling industry veterans, such as Marco Blume, the former trading director of Pinnacle.
The company, which offers AI-powered automated trading products for microbetting, player props pricing, and risk management, plans to use the new financing to expand its global presence. This investment comes ahead of a busy summer sports season, including major events like Copa America, Euro 2024, the end of the NBA season, and the start of the MLB season.
GamePLAI aims to accelerate its development at a critical point in 2024, investing in technology and product enhancements over the next 12 months. The company also plans to launch a player props offering, including a Player Micros product designed for soccer, in time for the upcoming tournaments.
Chief Executive Officer Graham Savage emphasized the company’s commitment to providing innovative, player-focused markets that engage fans during and before games. He expressed gratitude for the support from investors as GamePLAI strives to become the leading provider of automated and quantitative-driven sports solutions.
In addition to the funding news, GamePLAI announced the appointment of Donal Barron, former head of corporate development at Banach Technology, as chairman of the leadership team. Barron’s experience with sports betting technology and his role in the sale of Banach Technology to PointsBet in a $43 million deal position him to contribute valuable expertise to GamePLAI.
PointsBet, which acquired Banach Technology, reported a slight decrease in turnover and total sports betting handle in its Q1 FY24 report after the sale of its US assets in 2021. As GamePLAI moves forward with its expansion and product launches, the company is well positioned to make an impact in the sports betting industry.
