Clarion Gaming has recently welcomed Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes to its ICE Ambassador team, further cementing her reputation as an influential figure in the Latin American and Caribbean gaming industry. Sierra-Hughes, a Panamanian attorney with a Master’s degree in commercial law, has been instrumental in shaping gaming regulations in the region and advocating for a regulated sector that aligns with international best practices.

Her extensive background in gaming regulation has positioned her as a valuable asset in guiding government agencies in Latin America, leading to the implementation of comprehensive and accountable laws and regulations. Stuart Hunter, the Managing Director of Clarion Gaming, spoke highly of Sierra-Hughes’ expertise, stating that her advice has led to improved regulatory landscapes in Latin America.

Sierra-Hughes’ inclusion in the ICE Ambassador team comes at a crucial time as preparations for ICE London 2024 and the inaugural edition of ICE Barcelona in January 2025 are underway. Her diverse perspective, including her previous role as the Legal Director of the Panama Gaming Control Board, will be crucial in enhancing the exhibitor experience and catering to the needs of industry professionals expected to attend ICE London 2024.

In addition to the announcement of Sierra-Hughes’ addition to the ICE Ambassador team, Clarion Gaming revealed plans to relocate the ICE and iGB Affiliate conferences from London to Barcelona starting in 2025. The decision to move the events to Barcelona was based on the city’s world-class facilities, hospitality infrastructure, logistics, and scalability. This move, facilitated by event specialist Equimore, will establish a partnership between the international gaming industry, Fira de Barcelona, and stakeholders in Spain.

The 2025 edition of ICE is scheduled to take place from January 20 to 22 at the 240,000-square-meter Fira de Barcelona property. Additionally, iGB L!VE will move to ExCeL London in 2025 after being previously hosted in Amsterdam. Furthermore, Clarion Gaming has renewed its ICE agreement with the European Casino Association.

Overall, the addition of Sierra-Hughes to the ICE Ambassador team and the relocation of the ICE and iGB Affiliate conferences to Barcelona signal an exciting period of growth and collaboration for the international gaming industry.
