A man, identified as L.L.B., 48, was recently sentenced to prison for his involvement in a fight at a casino bar that resulted in injuries to a woman. The incident occurred in November 2021 at the former Hard Rock Casino in Stateline, Nevada.
The 48-year-old man was sentenced to between 24 and 60 months in prison and was taken into custody by the sheriff’s office immediately following the sentencing. The altercation, captured on CCTV footage, showed the man engaging in an argument with the victim’s party. Douglas County District Court Judge Thomas Gregory emphasized the importance of the video evidence, stating, “The video is important because it answers the question whether it was intentional.”
The fight involved two groups, with the CCTV footage showing one group leaving the casino bar followed by the 48-year-old man. He approached the victim’s group, and when one person attempted to intervene, a woman stood between them in an effort to stop the fight. Unfortunately, the woman was then hit by the 48-year-old man, who also went on to hit another man from the victim’s group. The female victim suffered injuries including a fractured upper jaw and lost two teeth.
During the sentencing, the victim expressed that the man had intentionally locked eyes with her before hitting her, and she believed he knew what he was doing. It was not confirmed whether the attacker suffered any injuries, and it remains unclear whether the men from the victim’s party were injured during the attack.
