Troy Deneau, a 56-year-old lottery player from Dorchester County, Maryland, recently won a staggering $5 million from the Maryland Lottery’s 50th-anniversary game, 50 Years! Deneau, who is the owner of a small fire-protection company, has been playing the lottery for many years and has previously won other prizes from the same game.
Deneau stated that while the huge win will help him for his retirement, he has no plans to stop working. He expressed his dedication to his company, which he has been a part of for 30 years, and his reluctance to walk away from the business that he has been a part of for so long. Despite securing a major win, Deneau is committed to continuing with his business and has no plans to make major changes in his life. His dedication to his work is clear as this is not the first time he has won big from the 50 Years! game, having previously won prizes ranging from $100 to $10,000.
The lucky winner purchased three 50 Years! lottery tickets from Dash In at 7201 Main Street in Worcester County, and to his surprise, one of the tickets resulted in a $5 million win. The business that sold the winning ticket will also receive a $5,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
This is the second out of three grand prizes to be claimed from the 50 Years! game, with other prizes including $100,000 and $50,000 prizes, as well as 18 prizes of $10,000 each, and minor prizes ranging from $50 to $1,000. Deneau’s big win has left him celebrating, but his commitment to his business remains unwavering.
