Southampton FC and Blackpool FC Show Support for Safer Gambling Week
Southampton FC and Blackpool FC have both expressed their support for Safer Gambling Week, an annual initiative aimed at promoting responsible gaming. The two soccer clubs are joining forces with their respective gambling partners to raise awareness about the importance of safer gambling.
Southampton FC has partnered with Better Change to facilitate discussions about safer gambling among fans. Better Change will provide a platform for fans to engage in conversations about the importance of safety while discussing their passion for sports. Additionally, the club will share a video featuring insights from Malcolm Frame, the head of performance psychology at Southampton FC, to promote Safer Gambling Week.
Charlie Boss, the Chief Commercial Officer of Southampton FC, emphasized the club’s commitment to promoting safer gambling as part of its dedication to the community. He thanked Better Change for their support in championing a safer future for fans and the industry as a whole. David Richardson, the head of strategic partnerships at Better Change, commended Southampton FC for proactively making an impact through socially responsible activities and stressed the importance of breaking down the stigma surrounding gambling.
Meanwhile, Blackpool FC has teamed up with its gambling partner, LeoVegas, to promote responsible gambling during the team’s upcoming game against Shrewsbury Town on November 18. As part of the initiative, the club will replace the LeoVegas logo on their shirts with messaging promoting safer gambling for the game.
Jonty Castle, the Chief Operating Officer of Blackpool FC, emphasized the importance of Safer Gambling Week to the sports and gambling sector in the United Kingdom and thanked LeoVegas for their ongoing support and kind donation of their front-of-shirt sponsorship for the cause. Sam Behar, the Director of UK and Ireland at LeoVegas, stated that responsible gambling is ingrained in the company’s values and expressed pride in working with Blackpool FC to help fans understand the range of safer gambling tools available to them.
