The New Year’s Powerball drawing resulted in a player from Michigan winning a massive $842 million jackpot after correctly guessing all white balls 12, 21, 42, 44, 49 and red Powerball 1. If the winner chooses the cash payout, they will receive $425.2 million. However, a week later, no one correctly guessed all the white balls 7, 17, 28, 40, 45 and red Powerball 2 in the latest drawing. As a result, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow and is now estimated to be $60 million for the upcoming draw on Wednesday, with a cash option of $29.7 million.

In addition to the Powerball jackpot, a company called Saltines Holdings, LLC recently claimed a massive $1.6 billion jackpot from the Mega Millions drawing back in August. Instead of receiving monthly payments, the company chose to receive a lump sum payment of nearly $795 million.

The latest Powerball drawing saw no one secure the grand prize, and there were also no winners of the million-dollar prize. Eight players correctly guessed all five white balls, winning $50,000 each, while one player secured a $150,000 Power Play prize. Additionally, 175 lottery players won a $100 prize each by guessing four white balls, while 66 winners collected a $300 Power Play prize each. The largest number of winners, 136,098, received $4 each for guessing the red Powerball, with 52,011 players winning $12 each.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, while the overall odds of winning a prize from the game are 1 in 24.9.
